Certificate of Admission of Louis Gregory to Practice Before the United States Supreme Court
Louis Gregory, an early African-American Bahá’í, a graduate of Fisk University and of Howard University, and a practicing attorney, was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court on March 6, 1907.
Mr. Gregory became one of the most admired and beloved members of the American Bahá’í community, renowned for his qualities of character.
His marriage to a white woman at the urging of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, a courageous act for both Mr. Gregory and his wife, was one of the most cherished and significant of the acts of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in America.
