'Abdu'l-Bahá's travels
Niagara Falls
‘Abdu’l-Bahá stopped in Buffalo, NY, on September 10 and spent two days there. His companions persuaded Him to visit Niagara Falls, so He spent the 50-cent fare and rode the trolley to the famous site. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá walked to the overlook and gazed out over the immense cascade.
The sight brought His Father to mind: “There were small waterfalls in Mazindaran which Bahá’u’lláh liked so much that He used to camp near them for several days…So much electricity can be generated from this water that it will suffice the whole town…,” He said.
‘Abdu’l-Bahá ate some fruit and walked in the park for a while. Some of His companions suggested that He stay a few days in Buffalo to rest, but He said he could not waste even a half day.
